New York, Nov. 6. Stocks scored a sweeping gain today with trading running well past four million shares as traders
hustled to get their orders in ahead of the Election Day holiday on Wall Street tomorrow. Blue chips were in the vanguard of the advance with Du Pont, General Eoods and Sears Roebuck up two or more near the close, and Chrysler, American Telephone, Owens-Illinois, Alcoa and Anaconda ahead around a point.
