Capt Macdonald applled to join the Royal Warwickshire Regiment Expedition following the announcement that Major J. Barrett, RAMC, who was formerly a member, had had his leg amputated above the knee after a rock fall on Taimoshan last week.

Capt Macdonald, a National Service offieer, was due to leave The Army on November 7. The Army has now granted him on extension of service for three months.

The expedition will leave Kal Tak ignorrow evening by Air India charter service.

Two air passengers who were arrested on arrival at Kai Tak Airport from Singapore via Bangkok on September 23, appeared before Judge T. Creedon at Kowloon District Court this morning on charges of possessing and importing dangerous drugs to Hongkong.

The accused are Les Yim-luen Officers at the customs counter, and Lau Ec-chang.

premises concerned were "new premtacs" within the meaning of the Landlord and Tenant Or- dinance. Further, et a very late stage, the landlord had offered "very generous ex gratia torms" to the tenants.

"Under the circumstance, I deemed it my duty to advise my clients to accept these terms rather than proceed with the appeal," Mr Zimmern said.
