Mr Y. S. Brenner, 34, who, was recently appointed as a lecturer in History ut University, and then was refused permission to en- ler Australia for security reasons, made a final appeal this week to the Australian Government to make public its allega tions against him.
Mr Brenner is a German born Israel Lecturer in Economie History at London University, and the hope that he will be allowed to clear his name, is so strong, that he is still working an lectures to give at Adelaide University. Those he has been preparing for the past three months at the Institute for His- torical Besearch at Τοπάση University.
Mr Brenner is anxious that "the charges against him should be publicly disclosed, as at pre- sent he is powerless to say any thing in his own defence.
He admits that at the age of 10 he had been a member of the stern gaug, and had remained
with them for five years but says "he joined as a matter of political sympathy and not for violence." This however, is not the reason for refusing him an entry permit.
