Ling's success

Early next week Hongkong's own singing star, Miss Kong Ling, will return after a successful six months visit to the US.A

As you all probably know Kong Ling was invited to appear in Arthur Godfrey's TV show, when the latter. visited the Colony last year.

It has just been learned that Kong Ling made her TV debut on May 19, and that the reception was overwhelming.

The Americans loved her, the critics gave her first class reviews and Godfrey was so pleased that he has asked her to make a return appearance in the autumn.

A friend of mine who watched the show wrote to me saying, "Great! That's the only word I can describe Ever Kong Ling's appearance in Godfrey's show since then Kong Ling has been the talk of the town .....

Prior to the big TV show, Kong Ling appeared in various radio shows and was heard by millions of Americans.

Her popularity was confirmed when she sang before a packed-house of over a thousand at one of Miami's leading clubs.

The audience was fascinated by the Oriental singer and she was warmly applauded. She received several encores!

So after six exciting, eventful and successful months in America, Kong Ling returns.

Will she perform here once again?
