Xu Yuan and Zhang Xun, two loyal Tang generals who fell in battle with the rebels. They are clan patrons and revered as protective spirits. A modern image of Zhang Xun on a rural altar near Hangzhou in Zhejiang province, has replaced the one destroyed during the Cultural Revolution.
