Trading in the local Stock Exchango was marked by two features this wook—a big increase in the daily turnover and the introduction of the Kowloon Motor Bus shares on the Exchango,
The average daily turnover for the four full days of business was $11,650,000, while the turn- over of $7,610,000 for the half-day session on Wednesday was the second highest on record for any Wednesday.

The Kowloon Motor Bus shares were quoted for the first time on Wednesday.
Opening business with sales at $82, the KMB shares rose steady to a peak of $88 before closing at $80 on Wednesday. Those shares remained steady yesterday closing at $86.
The market continued firm during the werk under review (Friday to yesterday), There were more plus than minus signa on the China Mall 1tat for the third successive wéck.
Telephones stood out among the gainers in the China Mail

Friday: Buyers took over again today and bidding was brisk throughout the day, working up to a crescendo of trading which filled the Board to overflowing, Utilities were again strong led by Telephones which closed at $86. Investment Companies were also sought eagerly, and gains were generally in plentiful sup- ply reflecting a broad and sub- stantial advance which held up Turnover was ap- till the end, proximately $11,100,000.

a modest rally late in the session brought prices back from their lows.
