The prize foster-mother in Hongkong at present, according to the International Social Service officials in the Colony, is Mrs E. M. Brooks, who since June last year has given love and preparation for a new life to five Chinese children.

Mrs Brooks first volunteered

first baby girl she hored was Yin Heung who had been given away at birth and a year later was abandoned by the Chinese family who had ccased to care for her. found the child was seriously undernourished, thin, pate and covered with bolls.

medical treatinent and could not be sent out lo fosterenre at that time, but joined the family later.

found abandoned in a Kowloon street when one month old. They were identical twins and suc- cessively both received care in the Brooks' home. Now they are described as being delight- fully attractive und sweet- natured.
