by Jill Doggett

Pastel sketches of Wanchai tenements by Martha Webster have been on display at the Art Students' League of New York. Her winter ex- hibition of oil paintings, pastels and drawings was so popular that it was extended for a further week.

A versatile young Artist, Martha Webster came twice to world Hongkong during her tour andi stayed here as long as she could.

She lived voluntarily in one of the most overcrowded arean trying to absorb the spontaneity and ntmosphere of the bustling Chinese life all around her.
