Not so long ago, a pair of twins (Diane and Rosalind Rowe) pub England at the top of the world's table-tennis free. Now Rosalind is retired, and the migle is gone; but in this year's national doubles championships appeared another pair of twins apparently eut out to reproduce the record of the Rowes. Christine and Pauline Holes lost á close maloli in that final-but then they are only 15, and have only been playing for four years. They camo from Southampton, where their whole family is now table tennis crazy fast year their father drove them 7.000 miles from tournament to tournament, and spent £300 on equipment and entrance fees and expenses, The reward—a total of 92 cups and medals.
