It has not run out of gadgets for sterilising the Inflow. There is renewed talk of doing it by requiring the German banks to take up securities for a definite period. This technique, which even Britain has not used since 1951, comes strangely, from the protagonists of the free-market economy. It is not the thin end of the wedge because that has already been inserted.
