France will be out for revenge against England on Saturday
By JOHN COTTRELL
The England rugby XV who have already beaten Waland Ireland can go one step further to achieving the "grand slam” wnen they meet France at Colombes Stadium in Paris on Saturday.
Already favoured to win the Triple Crown and Calcutta Cup, England will be almost certain to recapture the international championship if they now defeat the title-holding Frenchmen for the first time in their history.

Overdoing
My feeling is that **gland, like the British Lions it year. are overdoing the theory of open play at all costs. Speed is all very fine, but when the going is heavy and the pressure great there is no subalitute for ex- perience.
This was the great lesson at TwickenhanI when England were outclassed for 70 minutes of the game by the fast and flory Irish, They had no Lactical reply, only superior staying power which saw them home by
the skin of their teeth.
No, this is not a great England side. But it is strong enough in the right quarters -- the line-out and scrum - to avercome a France weakened by injuries and leases to the professional game.
Once again England are being well-served by their giant ne- out specialists David Marques and John Currin (this, their 20th successive international together, must constitute some kind of that I should have to give up record). "I'd want to play in the Brst Open," he said. "But I'd want to have a chance to win It."
To their liking
Gonzales hasn't played the three-bounce rute yot because it is used only in the pros' pre- minary match-and he never has dropped Into this category simply because he has won all in five feature matches played this current 60-match tour. The loser drops into the, preliminary and the preliminary winner moves up to the feature match at the next stop.
But the preliminary battlers find the three-bounce rule well to their liking.

If not, he must open up the game more frequently with his foot us, Mick English did so superbly for Ireland at Twickenham.
The French team may be the same as the one which beat Scot land 13-11. Doubts about finess, however, have moved the selec- tors to name two players for the. left-wing
