PLENTY OF RUNS

London, Dec. 8.

Peter, May, England's cricket captain, predicted plenty of runs to the Test matches against the West Indies, when he left London today with the MCC to embark on the "Camlio" from Avonmouth.

"Bowlers look like having a lot of work to do," he said. "Poople at home should not expect easy victories. We are going out as a young and largely experimental side, and although we have a number of promising batsmen not many of them have proved themselves against Hern opposition."

May thought fielding would play an important part in the matchen and he intended to pay particular attention to it. May concluded: "When it is remembered that no official England team has won a Test series in the West Indies you can realise what we are up against. Naturally we have high hopes, of success, but above all we ago keen on making this a pleasant, enjoyable tour.”

The MCC team are due in Barbados on December 17. The tour opens with a match against the Windward Islands, in Granada, starting on December 21-China Mall Special,
