England In Deep JU-JU RITUALS TO AID
Mourning Over Soccer Defeat
London, Oct. 29. Sweden, runners-up to Brazil in last year's World Cup final, put English soccer — once on the top of the world — in deep mourning today as a result of their 3-2 win at Wembley here.
Sweden win high praise but headlines, of which the following are typical, reflect the keen English disappointment over yesterday's defeat.
"England are humbled by no panie Sweden... Wrakties nully exponi; dehat a body blow to selectors" "Blackest day in (England) SOCVET History
