OUTPUT, wages and

salaries all increased in Britain last year, ac- cording to the Blue Book on National Income and Expenditure prepared by the Central Statistical Office and published to- day.

And more was spent on food, icbacco, furniture, radio and

cars.

On the other band, personal savings and compony profits were lower than in 1957.

The nation's total output of gcods and services-the grOSE national product rose to the peak gure of 220,130 million. This compares with £19,370 million the previous year.

Total peramal incomes rose to £18,928 million last year which compares with E17,911) million in 1937 and £18,941 millien in 1950.
