East Germany Buying British Steel
London, Sept. 10. East Germany is following Russia's lead in buying steel in the West. It is reliably reported from East Berlin that the East German Steel and Metal Trade Company is negotiating with the British steel industry on the purchase of rolled steel worth 25,000,000 East German marks - approximately £2 million.

The British wool ellp for last year the heaviest for 25 years — realised a higher average pirce than the clip of any other country, the Wool Market- ing Board announced here today.
The result was particularly [significant because the British Felip contained none of the fie merino wools produced in the Dominions and the United States, the Board said.
Average prices were: Biftain 39s 7 per pound; Australia Je 9d per pound New Zealarut 30s ld per pound; South Africa 33s and the United States 31 24 per pound.
