KHRUSHCHEV Nixon Appeals For American Co-operation

Washington, Aug. 5.

American Vice-President Richard Nixon's first gesture on return- ing home today after a tour of the USSR and Poland was to appeal to the American people to give a courteous reception to Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev on his forth- coming visit to the United States.

Mr Nixon urged his fellow citizens to show Mr Khrushchev the same courtesy which he (Nixon) had received at the hands of the people and leaders of the Soviet Union and Poland during his two-week stay behind the Iron Curtain.

Mr Nixon repentedly stressed the numerous marks of friendship which he had met with during his recent trip in spite of the political differences between the U.S. and the two countries concerned.
