Draw Closer To Titles With Maximum-Point Wins
By ROBERT TAY
League leaders of all the three divisions of the Colony lawn bowls league concluded their first-round fixtures on Saturday in brilliant style, each winning their crucial game by the maximum points.
The best among these three excellent victories was undoubted- ly that of Indian Recreation Club "A", who scored a resounding 5-0 triumph over Recreio "A", last year's champions, to bring themselves almost to the threshold of the first division league honours.
By virtue of this win, they will start the second round, six second-placed points ahead of
Kowloon Deck Club and nine and half points ahead of third- pláced Recreio "A".
On the day's performance, the Indians deserved to win, but a 4-1 margin would have been a fairer result, as F. G. da Luz. C C. Pereira, B. F. Lus and J. E. Noronha were rather unlucky not to have claimed one point for the Portuguese Clab, Tosing 15-21 to M. Yusuf, S. Bucks, J. M. A. Ramjaha and J. Hoonet,
