Resettlement Buildings Now
To Have
Precast Slabs
The building of resettlement blocks will be considerably speeded up by the use of large precast concrete slabs, it was re- vealed today.
A Government statement said: "Their use, parti
cularly in wet weather, will considerably speed up construction work."
The precast slabs are ninc feet three inches long, twelve
inches wide and four inches thick.
They will be used entirely for the flooring of resettlement
buildings.
In the first, instance they will be used in the building of two more resettlement blocks in the Wong Tal Sin aren, and the use of precnst slabs will mean that they will be ready for occupation in
six a little over months' time.
The biceks will be seven storeys high and they will have
almost 1,200 units for 6,000 people.
Tenders for the new blocks are called for today in the
Government Gazette.
