IN SHAMSHUIPO SQUATTER FIRE
A squatter fire brake out this morning at the junction of Castle Peak Road and Kong Shing Street, Shamshuipo burning-down an unspecified number of huts. More than 1,000 are reported homeless.
The fire started shortly before 9.30 a.m., and four
major fire appliances were sent to the area.
The fire was brought under control after about half-an-hour, and was finally extinguished shortly before 10.30 a.m.
Two squatters, a man and a woman, received slight injuries in the fire. They are the only known casualties.
