Hugo Vieira has been heard over Radio Hongkong longer and more regularly than practically anyone else. His Portuguese Half Hour has been running since 1947 and still has its enthusiastic following, Hugo has in fact become an institution. Hugo Correia Vieira was born in Angola, West Africa, an unspecified number of years ago, and first broadcast over the Macao Radio. His resonant bass voice in addition to introducing Portuguese Half Hour has in the past been put to good use at local concerts, and he admits that singing used to be his main hobby. To end on a note of enigma-his voice will be heard in Hongkong very soon, but the place and the time is still top secret.
