Amman, Aug. 7.
Israel is allowing only American planes to fly over Israeli territory on supply runs from Cyprus to Amman, reliable sources said tonight. British planes are banned by the Israelis, it was said.
U.S. planes flew in last night when an Anglo- American airlift to British troops here was resumed. American planes also were expected on here tonight with supplies.
The airlift was stopped for four days when Israel withdrew permission for the flights.
The airlift last night was shrouded in secrecy, But the sources said, the Israelis, who have tumed back British plants over their coast on supply flights, gave a go-ahead for U.S. flights.
Last night six U.S. globemasters arrived here bringing aviation fuel and stores.
No reason was given for discrimination against British planes.
Britain, meanwhile, was apparently set to use the port of Aqaba at the southern end of Jordan as a sup- ply and troop gateway. Reinforcements for Her troops here were landed at Aqaba last night and flown here to Amman today.
U.S. supply ships also have unloaded at Aqaba in recent days.-U.P.I.
