REPLACING BAMBOO by a China 'Mail Reporter
Bamboo scaffolding has been replaced on a number of recent building jobs in Hongkong by steel 'scaffolding imported from England. According to an architect of the Hongkong En- gineering and Construction Company the steel scaffolding is nearly 15 per cent more expen- sive per month, but is much more convenient.
