Aerial Inspection

Washington, May 1. Secretary of State John Faster Dulles at his news conference today, said that the United States might considerably roduce its bomber flights over Polar region if the Soviet Union will agree to international aerial inspection of that aroa.

The Secretary also disclosed that the United States Is prepared to talk with Russia and other coun- tries on the technical problems involved in en- forcing a ban on H-bomb and A-bomb tests without insisting, at that stage, that other problems of disarmament be considered too.

In a renewed appeal to the Kremlin to accept the US plan for Arctic inspection, Dulles said this plan was put forward "not as a manoeuvre, not as propaganda, but in a sincere effort to meet the admitted problems of a particular area."

a

Dulles disclosed that last Saturday afternoon, with the approval of President Eisenhower, he handed message to Soviet Ambassador Menshikov urging the Soviet Union to consider the US proposal as one of great sincerity.
