ARMY SPORTS

PARADE

The Spotlight this week goes to the winner of the Army Small Unit Cricket League, District Workshops REME, and it is fitting that the smallest of the small units should take this honour in what has been a successful if protracted competition.

Almost throughout the tournament the position has been very open, first one unit and then another reached the top only to be toppled from the pedestal, and the winner was only known after practically the last game in the fixture list, a very satisfactory way to end this popular feature which it is hoped will be repcated next year.

This excellent sporting unit, coon to be swallowed by larger Command Workshops, sister have a further iron in the re as they are finalists in the minor unit knockout competition, and meet to decide who shall have this trophy next Friday at the Amy ground, Sookunpon, the HQ Company / Green He wards. This will be an all day match and with a very balonci eleven I can going to tip them to win, if for no other reason have than the fact that they entered every branch of sport it

WORLD CUP PARTY FOR SWEDEN

FA Sensible To

To Give Players Choice Of Air Or Sea Travel

By TOM FINNEY

Amid the excitement of this vitally important week of the Soccer season, which culminated on Saturday, March 22 in two of the most fascinating Cup semi-finals in history. I wonder if you have missed a significant but little-publicised statement from the Football Association.

It

revealed that all players selected for England's World Cup party for Sweden are to be asked: How would you like to travel? Air or sea-the choice is yours.

It's an admirable gesture on the part of an organisation which, because of the difficulties involved in conveying a large party of people across a continent, could easily be dogmatic.

If I am chosen, I can say now¡wo should continue to travel by that I willy.
