Djakarta, Jan. 20, - Japan and Indonesia, two of South-aast Asia's richest and biggest nations, sign a peace treaty hero today formally ending the state of war that began early in 1942.

The signing of the peace treaty and the war re- parations agreement paved the way for normal diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Japan and for stronger trade ties. Toasts by Foreign Ministry officials of the two countries followed the peace treaty signing thus ending World War II between Japan! and Indonesia.
