Govt Orders Key Workers To Stay At Posts
Paris, Nov. 18. The French Government today ordered. key Civil Sorvants, on puin of' dis- ciplinary action, to stay at their posts tomorrow, when more than a million public employees, from schoolmasters to dustmen, will strike to press overdue pay claims.

The Government, which says that to meet the Civil Servants' claims would wipe out the benefit of the new taxes under the bill, today appealed to private industry to spread the sacrifices involved in straightening out the country's finances. Tomorrow's strike will be the third nation-wide stoppage in essential services in five weeks, following the gas and electricity strike on October 14 and the transport strike ten days later.
