"A Sleep of Prisoners," originally written to be produced in a church, has required certain adaptations for the sound medium, but the subtlety of the words has ensured an effective transfer to radio. This will be Radio Hongkong's third contribution to Hongkong's Festivals of the Arts. In previous Festivals, "The Fair Quaker of Deal" was produced by Donald Brooks in 1955, and Professor S. 1. Hsiung's "Lady Precious Stream" by David Lyttle in 1956.

This is a play which develops quickly and dramatically, and has for its theme the aftermath of work with the Resistance Movement in the Second World War.
