TOBACCO SMOKING HABIT

"Smoking tobacco is a habit as difficult to cast off as taking drugs, but the effect, physically and morally is not so serious," said Mr Y. I. Hsi, at the weekly lunch of the Rotary Club of Hongkong Island East, at Winner House.

Smuggling Heroin

Hul Ting, 30, was accused the Victoria. District Court this morning of smug- gling over two pounds of heroin in Chinese cardboard cake boxes from Macao.

Ilui was charged before Judge K. R. Macfe with possessing and importing 35.274 ounces of the drug on July. 4.

Inspector C, L. Smith told the Court that the heroin was found as a result of a routine search of the luggage of pus- sengers landing from Macao by the so Fat Shan.

The accused, Inspector Smith sald, was carrylag a paper bag containing two cardboard cake boxes. He told Revenue Officers that they contained biscuits.

EXAMINED

A Revenue Officer optied the boxes and found some biscuits. Underneath a sheet of paper in cach box, however, were found

all packages.

Jackie Is 15 inches high. He wears a clean while sult and while shoes. He looks rather like val ward orderly in a hospital.

But he is the skeleton in the Kader Co, cup- board!.

-Mr Ting who came down from Shanghai has very few other skeletons to worry about,

He did of course lose torch and battery factory in Shanghai worth a fortune. But when he arrived down in Hongkong he Wag moro fortunate thon most, because there was a local subsidiary of his flashlight empire... a plastica factory producing small parts for torches.

As he settled down to building up this subsidiary he became more and more fascinated with plastles. His operations became more and more complicated. He needed more and more staff for the manual operations that became necessary in toy making.

To attract the best people, he gave the best conditions possible. There were few labour troubles and no strikes... and the factory grew from strength to strength, ¤ place with no skeletons in the cupboard.

So Mr Ting decided to make his own. The result is "Jackle.”

Jackle has no skin on his body. Take off his neat whlio suit, and you fly him alive.

But the shoes come off, to disclose fook And the face and scalp come off, and show a cranium.

And the chest comes off to show the ribs, and liver, and heart, and stomach.

Each part comes out of its place,
