THE CHINA MAIL, FRIDAY, MARCH 1, 1957.

WHEN WILL THIS ONE-MAN TRACK BAND STOP PLAYING?

A situation approaching melodrama exists in British athletics. Certainly I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

This is because of the unfortunate emergence of two sides in the sport-the bosses and the bossed. One consequence is that athletes, in a spirit of trade union comradeship, have persuaded the bosses to recognise shop stewards" and the setting-up of a complaints committee.
