London, Feb. 17. Golfing diehards in general, and Scottish, ones in particular, have given a hostile reception to a decision of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club to amend
the pro- cedure for the Open Championship.
The club is the ruling body for the game in Britain, and its decisions, usually in co-operation with the United States authorities, are acted on wherever the game is played.
