chronology project consists of 24 members representing various disciplines, most of them located in the eastern United States, with a few corresponding members in other locations. Following a three-month exchange of working notes and queries, 15 members met at the University's Amherst campus over the weekend of 9-10 October 1993, to debate the parts of the construct affecting the Analects; a second meeting in spring 1994 will focus on the Mician corpus and the Dzwô Jwan. The work of the group is both informal and confidential, and no detailed reports of its preliminary exchanges and discussions are being issued; after a probable several years of continued examination and criticism, the chronological construct will, as appropriate, be published through conventional scholarly channels.
