COUNSEL ALLEGES CROWN OMITTED EVIDENCE
Allegations that the Crown had deliberately omitted evidence which they "did not like," were made by Defence Counsel, Mr Terence Shurlock this morning at the trial of five Chinese charged with the murder of Mrs Ursula Margareta Ernst, wife of a Chancellor of the Swiss Consulate."
Mrs Ernst died of burns two days after her taxi was overturned · and set on fire by a mob during the Kowloon riots last October:
The evidence Mr Shurlock referred to was that of the taxi-driver. Li Tsan, who said that he saw an enlarged photograph of the crowd round his taxi" on the desk of a Police officer before going to an identification parade at which he failed to identify anyone.
