SECOND TEST MATCH
THE CURTAIN RAISER WAS MORE INTERESTING THAN THE FEATURED GAME
By "PAK LO”
On Saturday afternoon before a large crowd of eager spectators, the Commander British Forces XV in a rather disappointing game beat the Hon. M. W. Turner's XV by 15 points (5 tries) to 11 points (2 tries, 1 goal), while earlier in the afternoon to the surprise of everyone the Civilians overcame the Services by 12 points (1 try, 3 penalty goals) to 9: points (3 penalty goals) in what was the better match of the two.

Breaking off from a narrow 5-4 lead in the bottom half of the sixth with a five-run rally on six well-timed hits, Bimbi Ablong's mighty Saints easily trounced the South China outfit 10-5 yesterday to keep their Pennant hopes alive.
Losing pitcher P. C. Wong on the slab for South China turned in a neat per- formance, holding the slap-happy Joeys to five scattered hits when the fatal sixth frame saw Mamie Xavier touching off an avalanche of six ringing blows with a smash to left field to post the victory with the added insurance runs on the Saint Joseph's ledger.
