Borge Orgy Tonight Over Radio Hongkong

In tonight's "Celebrity Spotlight” listeners to

Onth. vorited by Warwick Braithwaite,

Ebby DUCHIŃ 12.00 noon THE

*TORY." Carmen Cavallaro at the plans with serbestra conducted by Morris Htojai,

ના Jiarvest Finge*:

Radio Hongkong can hear the incorrigible Victorie London Symphony Borge of the nimble fingers and nimble wit caught in the act of convulsing his audience with a mixture of music and comedy.

As serious collectors of amusing records will already know, Victor Borge makes monkeys out of most composers — classical and 'pop'. One of his classics is the celebrated "Mozart Opera by Borge" - a skilful slice of mayhem consisting of an over- ture and a handful of arias, all brilliantly per- formed by Mr Borge.

On

It is not only splendid burlesque of the music, but a damaging swipe at the stately and inactive libretti of certain Mozart works. Moreover, it shows Mr Borge at his wonderful best in puncturing the visual frauda that have been built up about much serious music. the other hand it is evident that Mr Borge harbours no grudge against the classics alone; "Tea For Two" and "The Third Man Theme" will never again sound quite the same.
