Mr Horace Kadoorie, presiding at the annual meeting of the Hongkong & Shanghai Hotels, Ltd., held this morning, disclosed that during the year an approach was made to Government to find out their reactions to proposals whereby land areas generally in the Repulse Bay district might be de- veloped and put to better use.
Government had replied that no more than a general indication of the major principles relating to any redevelopment could be given, and as a re- sult the Board had decided not to pursue the matter for the time being.

Hearing of an alleged contempt of the Court against the proprietors, editors, publishers and printers of ten Chinese newspapers began before the Full Court, comprising the Chief Justice, Mr Justice M. J. Hogan, and Mr Justice J. R. Gregg, Puisne Judge, this morning.
The alleged contempt was said to have arisen out of the publication of an article concerning the Ming Tak Bank robbery in Kowloon on January 22. On March 9, the Full Court granted an ex-parto application by the Crown for writs of attachments to be issued against the newspapers for alleged contempt of court which were returnable today.
