The first test vote in this year's presidential election campaign will be taken next Tuesday in a primary election in the tiny mountain state of New Hampshire.

Registered voters of both parties will be driving over the hills into the small towns to elect delegates to represent the "granite state" at the Republican and Democratic Party conventions next August.
