BOB PERRY IS PROMISING, BUT HIS SERVICE IS FAR OFF THE HOAD STANDARD
Says "TOUCHWOOD“
One of America's brightest hopes for international tennis laurels, Californian-born Bob Perry, served notice of his intention to reach top class tennis via the Wimbledon Championships when he gave the small crowd at the Hongkong Cricket Club yesterday a scintillating display of före and backhand strokes.
Perry moved around the court with such ease that he made of his, tennis a game without tears. In his singles two-set match against the Colony Champion, Ip Koon-hung, the American after a slow start made İp run all over the court with his sweeping drives that time and again left the Colony star standing.

Australian Team Is Strong And Well Balanced Say English Officials
London, Feb. 8.
English players and officials agree that Australia's cricket team to tour England this summer is strong and well balanced but all are optimistle about England's chances of retaining the Ashes.
Len Hutton, former England captain, said: "It has a well balanced blending of experience and youth. The batting has been stiffened and they are very well equipped for pace bowlers. Much depends on whether the new- comers can settle down on our pitches. I think England should win a close series."
Other comments were: Peter May, Hutton's successor
There will be 10 races each day instead of nine races; the First Saddling Bells England captain: "This looks will be rung at I p.m. and an additional race (1A) will be run at 1.30 p.m. will be no Cash Sweep on these additional races.
