KURT NEILSEN IN MEN'S SINGLES FINAL FOR THE SECOND TIME IN 3 YEARS
Wimbledon, June 29.
Kurt Neilsen, Danish Champion, who reached the final stage for the second time in three years and American Tony Trabert, top seed and favourite, will meet in the Men's Singles final in the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships here on Friday.
The broad-shouldered Neilsen so little fancied as to be unseeded, beat the second favourite, Ken Rosewall, Australian Champion, 11-9, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 in the first semi-final today. Trabert beat fellow American Budge Patty, winner in 1950, by 8-6, 6-2, 6-2.
Win or lose on Friday Neilson, could not get these shots under, that has taken the honours this year.
To have upset the seedings and reach the final once as he did in 1988 when he lost to Vic Seixas was remarkable enough. To have repented the per formance is something un equalled in the modern history of Wimbledo

Trabert, husky Cincinnati nce, decisively beat Patty and now a hot favourite to Patty's 1950 achieve. emulate ment by winning the French and Wimbledon titles in the same year.
NEVER IN DANGER
many critics doubt whether even Neilsen spoll Trabert's brilliant record of not having conceded a set in the Championship,
Trabert has won all his three previous clashes with Nelisen in straight seis but Friday's match will be their first meeting on grass courts.

NORTHANTS ATTACK
The South Africans were for- tunate in finding a really easy prood wicket on which the Northants attack, badly missing England speed bowler Frank Tyson, was seldom menacing,
It had to rely on accuracy and walt for the mistakes but the South African batsmen were not prepared to take there chances. They scored at a con distent rate reaching 100 in 97 minutes, 200 in 202 minutes and 300 in 397 minutes,
Goddard hit with much power for his 70 while Percy Mansell was progressing effortlessly towards a century when he was brilliantly run out after scoring 88

For some years now the "old firm" of Tony Mottram and Geoff Paish, with an occasional Import of another player for singles, has served Britain but the happenings at Manchester where Mottram beat Naresh Kumar in the final match to give Britain the tie, suggests that changes might be an advantage.

London, June 29.
Surrey, whose pace attack has been mainly respon- sible for their hat trick of Championship wins in the past three years, today proved the strength of their reserves when Harry Kelleher, another fast medium bowler, took five wickets in helping skittle Worcestershire for 77 runs.
Kelleher, 26-year-old local product substituting for Test player Peter Loader, made the most of his first Championship game. Lifting and swinging the ball well from a good length on a rain-affected pitch, he claimed his five victims for 23 runs in 14 overs.
