RAILS NARROW

Four Per Cent Lower Suspension Of

Than Previous Year

By Laurence Meredith

London, June 21.

World consumption of raw wool was four per cent lower in 1954 than in the previous year, according to figures published by the Commonwealth Economic Committee and the International Wool Textile Organisation.

Wool textile activity in 1954 was at a somewhat lower level than in 1953 due principally to the sharp recession in the United States industry where wool consumption fell by 23 per cent and reached its lowest level since the war.
