I have recently been privileged to read extracts from a collection of private recommendations made to an English League Club by a business efficiency expert who had been called in to examine the system which the club had been using for years. The whole thing was kept very quiet because the business expert was expert in the art of football and the club officials were a little concerned that they might be subjected to a certain amount of light-hearted derision.
