Canada Reduces On Large Incomes

10 PER CENT CONCESSION

FOR INDIVIDUALS

Ottawa, Apr. 21.

Mr Walter Harris, Canadian Finance Minister, in his Budget speech announced that corporation tax on large com- pany incomes was to be reduced while incentive tax conces- sions for oil, gas and mining industries, now temporary, would be made permanent.

The reduction in corporation tax lowers tax on large com- pany incomes to 45 per cent from 47 per cent, effective January 1, 1955; tax remains unchanged at 18 per cent on small company incomes (under 20,000 dollars).
