HOW DO THESE GIANT-KILLERS DO IT?

THIRD DIVISION TEAMS ARE GETTING BETTER -LOOK AT YORK CITY

Says TOM FINNEY

Two events of great importance to Third Division clubs have happened. First. York City, for the second time in their history, have entered the last eight of the Cup and are the sole representatives of the Third Division left in the competition.

Secondly, the FA have decided to permit floodlit Cup replays for the first time next season up to and including the second round.

The entry of York into the last eight of the Cup is a credit to Third Division football. They knocked out the much improved Spurs 3-1 at Bootham Crescent, and my old friend Danny Blanchflower is reported to have sald: "York's standard of play left us speechless. They were better in all departments,”
