TRIUMPH OF HIGH DEGREE

At twenty-two minutes past twelve
Friday last. whistle rilled, a flag dropped, and twenty-three of the fastest and fittest racing ryelists in the Colony set out on the first of the three stages which made up the first-ever Stage Race to be hed in Hongkong.
These linely trained and enthusiastic cyclists came from
different Service Clubs, Three RAF and four Army, all of them determined to do ar dle. And how they suffered. Turning out of Nibeiwa Road towards Twisk village, the field was soon spread out as the pace reached the 25-28 miles an hour mark, the leading exponents, making sure they were not boxed in at the start of the gruelling climb up the tortuous turns and twists of Twisk Hill,
