Is There A Potential Market For Floodlit Football In Hongkong?

Asks I. M. MacTAVISH

The two main topics in local soccer circles during the weak have been floodlights and repre- sentative teams. During the South China-Army game on Wednesday a well-known football personality said casually to me, "I wonder what the future of floodlight football in Hongkong'will be?"

His remark was more of a mental speculation than a question requiring an answer, but it is, nevertheless, a matter which is engaging the attention of many people at the present moment. South China's ambitious installation is now a reality and the Hongkong Football Club's pylon system will be ready for use in the very near future. On top of all that it was announced by the Hon, Kwok Chan, at the dinnor that followed the game at Caroline Hill on Wednesday, that the new Government Stadium would also be equipped with lights.
