MUSHROOM FIELD FOR STATHAM
SATURDAY'S RUGGER GAMES
FAILED TO
COME
UP TO EXPECTATIONS
By "PAK LO”
Saturday afternoon's two rugger games at Boundary Street sadly failed to come up to expectations. Both were mainly dull and uninspiring, and though the Army bumbled the Club by 14 points (1 penalty, 1 goal, 2 tries) to all, and the RAF handed out the same medicine to the Police, again by 14 points (1 penalty, 1 goal, 2 tries) to mil, neither of the two winners could be said to have shown Tournament winning form.
In the frat game the Clais backs, without the support of their regular halfs, Cole mal Turville, could not get into their stride, either in attack or defence. There was a definite lack of cohesion in their moves, and neither Watson nor Kirkwood bad a happy game at their unusual positions and they were siow in getting their passes away from the scrum,
