This series, in which extracts from the editorials in the leading weekly periodicals can be heard, should be of particular interest to Overseas Listeners who may be deprived of up-to-date news on topical matters such as are dealt with in these papers. "From the Weeklies” will come at 9.15 each Saturday evening.

With a cast headed by Sir Ralph Richardson as Bottom, the BBC production of “A Midsummer H3 CLUSE DOWN. Night's Dream", can be heard at nine o'clock on Wednesday evening. It was first broadcast as one of the programmes that celebrated Coronation Week in the BBC's Third Programme.

Shakespeare's gay fantasy is embellished with the complete incidental music by Mendelssohn played by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by John Hollingsworth. The script for this production was prepared by Lonce Sieveking, and the production is by Val Gielgud.

Was George Borrow, friend of the gypsies and champion of the dispossessed, a rebel against his Time, or was he -as hostile con- temporaries claimed-frustrated, cold egotist, a far and boaster, and a raucourvus hater?
