Will History Repeat Itself In The Coming Test Series?
Another English cricket season has drawn to a close but with the departure of the MCC team for Australia a further exciting chapter in cricket's history opens. The forthcoming series will be followed with more than usual interest by lovers of cricket all over the world.
Winning that unique trophy "The Ashes" has long been regarded as a symbol of supremacy in international cricket and the fortunes of the struggle between those two oldest of rivals in international cricket, England and Australia, have constant- ly fluctuated over the years.
The present MCC team la the 25th to visit Australia. The first went there in 1861 but the series between the two countries is reckoned to begin with the visit of the England team which went to Australin In 1876-17, playing two Tests, each country winning one.
