S. Korea Wants Positive Aid From America

Seoul, July 14.

South Korean Prime Minister Pyun Yung-tai told the National Assembly today his Government wants "positive assistance" from the United States in building up the ROK Army.

Pyun, who negotiated for Korea at the futile Geneva talks on Korean problema, did not outline how much more U.S. aid the Seoul Government may request but he told the Assembly, "we look for positive assistance and swift execution by our ally, the United States," in expanding the ROK Army.

Washington, July 14i Nationalist, Chiha will be receiving Swift United States F186 Sabrejéts that could give Red China a lot of first-class headaches, informed sources reported today.

The modern jet fighters will be able to zip across the 180 miles between Nationalist-held Formosa and the Red-held China mainland at speeds of around 650 miles per hour. They will be available also for the defence of Formosa and other Nationalist islands if the Communists strike. The authorities would not disclose the number of fighters scheduled for delivery to Formosa or the date of their expected arrival betause of security reasons. But there are clear signs the first deliveries will be

perhaps as early as hext month.

Sabrejets were used by American pilots in the Kotton war. They havo a fino record against the Russian-bulit MIG- 15 Jets flown by Chinese pilots.
