Sentence of two years' hard labour was meted out by Mr Justice C. W. Reece, Puisne Judge, at the Criminal Sessions this morning on a 21-year- old apprentice fitter, Chin Mau-sing, who pleaded guilty to a charge of manslaughter on Friday last.
At that hearing. His Lordship had deferred sentence for con- sideration after hearing a plea of mitigation on accused's be- half by Miss B. K. Searle, fa- structed by Mr Francis Wong.
Chip admitted fatally wound- ing a fellow-worker, Pak Hung- chat, with a penknife in a scuffle which took place on February 2 nt 60 Castle Peak Road, Taun Wan, where both of them were employed.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge of murder, but admitted the alternative manslaughter charge. This plea was accepted by Mr D. Ñ. E Rea, Crown Counsel.
