"Airliners To Your Own Specifications, Sir" Says British Industry
This week's round-up of Aviation news from the Society of British Aircraft Construc- tors, London, brings you an item explaining Britalo's "afler-sale service" for the jet lighters it sells to foreign countries. There is also an item on the "tailor-made" airliners Britain is turning out to the specifications of kudiyidual buyers. Another Hein this work tells how British Trades Unions forced 1.0.A.C. to abandon the sale of four altliners to Silver City Airways. The "Round-up" is a weekly Chion Mail feature provided by the Society's team of experts who write authoritatively in a noi-tuo-technical style for the Interested layman an well as the specialint.

Britain's Budget:
Unexpected,
Unpopular But Wise
From Our Own Correspondent
London, Apr. 11. The notion became acutely aware last week of the difference between a popular budget and a wise one.
As long ago as six months, Mr Butler was warning against the hopes of magic tax reduc- tions. And this cautious attitude seemed to be fully justified when it was learned a month ago that the Government's expenditure during the present financial year would rise by some £260 million above the estimate for last year.
Why then had the nation come to expect further tax concessions in the budget?
